Jules Kilson, MA, NCC
Jules Kilson brings to Epic Counseling Group her experience in community mental health as well as a background in healthcare, business and education. She has a broad range of experience with crisis counseling, severe mental illnesses, as well as depression, anxiety, grief,stress and post traumatic stress disorder. Jules has worked with a diverse range of clients from many different backgrounds and cultures. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor and a member of Chi Sigma Iota, the international honor society of counselors, a member of the American Counseling Association and presented at a trauma conference in Uganda, Africa in 2014.
Being a mother and a grandmother, Jules provides an understanding of life transitions and seasons. She encourages clients to be compassionate with themselves as she walks with them through their journey. Jules believes in providing education to her clients on their diagnosis, how the brain works, how the body works, and how this all works together. She teaches coping skills to help decrease symptoms and practical ways to manage everyday life.
Jules' techniques for wellness vary and may include art, music, writing, spirituality, exercise and/or mindfulness,creating an individualized approach to help clients reach their mental health goals.Jules loves dancing, reading, biking, hiking and being outdoors. She does one new thing every year "to remember what it's like to be a beginner at something." These have included: guitar lessons, climbing a mountain, belly dancing, going to graduate school, learning to rock climb and others.
